Introduction

Welcome to my blog, here I will be discussing the issues in media publication and design. Media is all about the communication channel while publication is more on magazines and newspapers and design is all about the graphics being used. The target audience of this blog is students that are studying Issues in Publication & Design and youth who are interested in gaining information about publication and design.

Good PowerPoint presentations determine the level of knowledge of the target audience and the topic chosen is that will appeal to the intended audience. According to Putnis, Peter & Petelyn & Rosyln (1996) stated a good document which helps readers read efficiently and also enable to reader to point out the most important content of the document. While Reep (2006) stated that a good document design is identified based on its graphic aids as well as the content.
In my opinion, a good PowerPoint presentation can be determined when the texts and graphics are combine together that ultimately leads to the understanding among the audience towards its content.  Kres & Van Leeuwen (1998 p.188) state that it is important to structure the elements of a document like the texts, images, and headings in such a way it gives meanings as a whole. As described by Kress van Leeuwen (2006), a stronger message can be created when visuals and text blend well among another.

It is advisable when you want to prepare the presentation to use the same colors and fonts throughout design and try to cut the clutter. Also its good Select graphic images in the same style. Using templates go a long way toward helping to maintain uniformity. It is good to decide if your presentation is meant to entertain, inform or persuade.
Good introduction is very important in presentation. To have a very clear introduction help to motivate what you want to say and to present the topic you want to inform your audiences. In our group presentation the introduction was not good enough to attract our audience and the background was colorful.

It good to keep the backgrounds simple with one colour. This is to keep it light on the eyes of the audience and not make your presentation rough. Besides that, Russell, W (2010) suggested that we should use contrasting colours for text and background such as dark text on a light background.
